Father's House

Dan, I really appreciate your illustrations of family in your writing about the Fatherhood of God. One of my absolute favorite memories of my children when they were young is when they were doing the dishes.

We had finished dinner and I prepared the sink for them. I then went to start a load of laundry. When I came back, I stood there and watched as they were laughing and seemed to enjoy doing the dishes. They weren’t playing with the suds; they weren’t arguing over who was to wash and who was to rinse. They did not appear to know that they were even working. It must have been during the summer because their backs were a warm honey color. At first I wanted to get my camera but then I realized I just wanted to hold this memory in my heart.

After I became a child of the Father, I thought how pleased God must be when He sees His children together doing the work of His house with joy. May we continue to grow in being more like Jesus, who always did the things that pleased the Father.
